View of the villages in the valley.
Minimum facilities. Very late breakfast, starts at 8am. Had water problem during stay (pipe burst?). Untable internet, multiple SSIDs required to set up each when going around the property.

HK Villas — Beautiful setting, but disappointing service and facilities The rooms at HK Villas are beautiful, spacious and very clean, with spectacular views. Water was regularly topped up, which was appreciated, although we would have liked more coffee provided throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by the food, service and some of the facilities. For the first three mornings, breakfast was buffet style. There was very little that our children would eat and almost nothing suitable for Western tastes, and unfortunately everything was cold. Coffee was served in paper cups. On our final morning, breakfast was served to the table instead, and this was a much better experience — there was a wider choice, including pancakes and fruit for the children, as well as a choice of fruit juices. Lunch and dinner were particularly disappointing. The menu was very limited, and on several occasions we were told only after ordering that the item we had chosen wasn't actually available. One day we waited almost two hours for our food. There were only two menus available for the entire restaurant, which made ordering quite difficult. The property is advertised as offering Western food and having a bar, but during our stay there was no alcohol available at all, and initially even Sprite and cola weren't available. Sprite eventually arrived on our second day. There was also no latte or wider choice of coffee because the coffee machine was broken. We also found the set-up around the pool *very* inconvenient. Everything had to be ordered through the restaurant *upstairs* , meaning that if you were at the pool with children, you had to leave them to go and order drinks, even though they were then brought back to the pool. *Coffee was even prepared and distributed from the poolside staff area, but the same process applied without exception* The pool itself was lovely and clean. It was cold, but perfectly fine in the Lombok heat.
The potential is definitely there — with better food availability, more attentive service, functioning facilities and some basic maintenance, this could be a fantastic place to stay. See above comments. It is also worth noting that we planned to stay for 5 days as my husband was trekking Rinjari so we wanted some time once he had returned we left after 4 days as soon as he was back as we were not enjoying our stay

Only the location and the view are worth mentioning positively. However, the location also means that the call to prayer is very loud, which can be particularly disturbing at certain times of the day.
WARNING - Tourist trap! Unfortunately, everything here is more appearance than reality. Our room was not clean at all upon arrival. The bed sheets were dirty and the bathroom smelled unpleasant. The blanket was way too thin for the nightly temperatures, so we froze all night. The air conditioning or heating also did not work. The Wi-Fi was very weak and hardly usable. Most disappointing was the evening service. When we wanted to order drinks, almost nothing was supposedly available. The soft drinks were out, so we were offered coffee and tea. We wanted to order a cappuccino and a ginger tea - both were also not available according to the staff. In the end, we were left with only water. The next morning, both the cappuccino and the ginger tea were suddenly available without any issues. This gave the impression that the evening staff simply did not want to prepare the drinks. Breakfast was also a disappointment. During check-in, a breakfast buffet was promised. Instead, there was only an à la carte menu, with again two dishes not available. The staff spoke hardly any English and overall seemed unenthusiastic and not service-oriented. The outdoor area also did not look well maintained. Even late at night, dirty dishes were left on the tables, which were also not wiped. Overall, this hotel does not meet the expectations raised by its online presence. For the price, we would have expected much more cleanliness, better service, and adequate facilities. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel.
