“A deeply disappointing honeymoon stay spoiled by serious privacy, cleanliness and service problems!”
The manager was polite, kind and apologetic when we raised our concerns, and he did try to help with some of the problems. Unfortunately this mees to be more of a formality rather than genuine attempt to help, many of the issues were beyond what he could resolve during our stay.
Unfortunately this was a very disappointing honeymoon stay. Problems started at check-in: the PIN did not work and we waited almost an hour to enter. The online check-in/check-out system also failed, there was initially no usable internet, and the Wi-Fi password provided was wrong. The villa had clearly not been properly prepared: we found around 20–25 dead cockroaches, sand/dirt, greasy furniture and cigarette ash in the kitchen despite it being advertised as non-smoking. There was active construction immediately beside the villa, with several workers on scaffolding overlooking the kitchen, living area, pool and open bathroom, destroying any privacy. A screen was fitted after we complained but was inadequate. The open bathroom and construction materials beside the wall also made the villa feel insecure and potentially easy to access. Breakfast was disgusting: eggs smelled as though cooked in bad oil, noodles looked like leftovers and bagged fruit smelled spoiled. The next breakfast was also so unpleasant that we threw it away. One evening the electricity was switched off without warning, so food, ice and breakfast items in the fridge warmed or melted. We spent about an hour resolving it and missed a booked massage. Rubbish was also regularly burned nearby in the evenings, filling the villa area with smoke.
