Mixed cleanliness: several guests noted rust stains, bugs and a clogged sink plus bathroom maintenance issues (holes in wall), though overall areas were acceptable given the setting.
Consistently praised staff — kind, helpful and attentive (organized airport transport, friendly team, good guest care and massage services).
Outstanding location and views — cliffside, secluded with uninterrupted ocean views and immediate access to surfing/snorkeling; steep stairs make it less suitable for those with mobility issues.
Rooms offer breathtaking views but have maintenance shortcomings: handheld shower issues, noisy all-wood floors, some wear (holes in bathroom wall) and occasional small pests.
Good experiential amenities: on-site massage, direct snorkeling/surf access and included breakfast; fewer high-end luxury amenities but strong activity-focused offerings.
Perceived as somewhat overpriced by some guests (expectations for price vs amenities); others felt the location and experience justified the cost.
Frequently praised homecooked-style food — especially curries — and included breakfast/coffee/juice that guests enjoyed daily.
Overall very positive: many guests described the stay as amazing, would return, and highly recommend for solo travelers and couples despite some maintenance and value concerns.

The place is sooo cool! I loved the set up with the loungers and access to the ocean. There was also water toys (paddle board/ boogie board/ snorkels) which were a bonus!
The access may be a bit challenging for some people- however once you are there it is worthwhile!

The views are amazing. The beach is at your feet and quiet. Almost like having a private beach. The difference between low and high tide is quite extreme (nothing to do with the hotel), but it allows you to swim (or walk) in the shallow waters in front. The breakfast is simple, but sufficient. Dinner and lunch ditto. Staying there for a longer period might get boring regarding the menu options.
As expected on the cliffs around Uluwatu, the stairs are horrid. Once in the resort, you don't feel the need to go out. Again, nothing to do with the hotel, but just be aware that it can be a steep climb.

Amazing little room with beautiful ocean views, spent a good few hours on our balcony watching the world go by. Nice and quiet at night, lovely little escape.
