“Top of the bill if you wanna explore Ancol. Otherwise not that special except the pool.”
Super nice pool with garden. Nice walk to supermarket. Especially catered for Ancol Theme Park visitors. (we found it to be like an Efteling hotel (not in terms of theming, but in the proximity to Jakarta's main amusement park (heck, I think in all of Indonesia). We only went to Sea World: it was fun.
Separate entrance at gate (regular road, you pay for the amusement park even if you don't go there).

“I will not repeat it”
Room size
The employees, especially at the reception, were not friendly at all. They need a specialized workshop in this aspect, as they took money from me without giving a paper receipt upon receipt because I requested a blanket for my son!!!? Also, the visitor should not get involved as there is a gate that will charge you for each entry and exit, and unfortunately, the hotel management does not show this or inform you at the time of booking. What most ruins the stay is that maintenance and workers whose voices reach their work in the rooms in the middle of the night.

“Kind of outdated Discovery”
This hotel (Discovery Ancol) is far outdated compared to its sister hotels (like the ones in the Philippines just for comparison). The room is quite old, and the bathroom shows signs of aging. The bath towels are old and smell musty. They are no longer white -- they look light gray -- I don't know. And I would like to emphasize that the hotel should properly fumigate the lobby, hallways, and restaurants as they are generally infested with mosquitoes!! But the staff were all nice, friendly, and accommodating.

“Need Room Improvement”
I stayed at this hotel recently, and overall the property is quite large with fairly good supporting facilities, especially the swimming pool and kids' experience area, which are enjoyable for families. The public areas also feel quite comfortable. However, the room condition still needs significant improvement. Some room facilities were not functioning properly, such as the shower, and the carpet felt damp with an unpleasant smell. When I checked in, the soap was empty, but fortunately the staff responded quickly after I informed them and refilled it promptly. In addition, the room interior felt very minimal and somewhat empty, making the room less cozy and comfortable during the stay. Hopefully, the hotel management can improve room maintenance and pay more attention to cleanliness and room amenities to provide a better guest experience in the future.
