“I will gladly come back”
Extremely quiet location, lots of nature, monkeys directly visible from the balcony, birdsong in the morning and during the day, magnificent view of the sea and Bali at night, great starry sky, no street noise as it is at the end of a dead-end street. The highlight is definitely the pleasantly shady and often windy balcony and garden. The rooms are simple but with a very comfortable bed, super functioning air conditioning, and hot water shower. A 10-minute walk offers a wide selection of restaurants, a 25-minute walk through beautiful nature to the super beautiful and quiet Gamat Bay and Amok Sunset, a pool restaurant with very good food and a fantastic view. The road to the homestay is easily accessible by scooter (even for beginners). In a 20-minute drive, you will reach the port city with many great beach and pool restaurants. All attractions are also easily accessible by scooter (narrow, hilly roads, but everything is manageable with a little patience - just drive counter to all the day tourists, then you will have more peace). The host is incredibly supportive. He regularly brought me drinking water, provided a scooter flexibly, cleaned the room immediately upon request (very clean). I stayed for 3 weeks and kept extending because it was just so cozy and so much great stuff was very close by - great location. Maybe one more note: Geckos in the room are normal in tropical countries and even good because they eat mosquitoes and other pests. Small ants are also normal: they come as soon as you leave food lying around (even small crumbs). Therefore, store all food like snacks in double plastic bags if kept in the room.
The ceiling of the bathroom needs renovation - here you can see the age and also the moisture. This somewhat diminishes the value of the accommodation. When several bungalows are occupied, you can hear the water pipes. Behind the bungalows is the reception of the Maua Hotel, and here you often hear the buggy and the locals have a spot, when they sit there, you can hear them very loudly in the bungalows (waking you up) and throughout the entire property (I found this the most annoying because it didn't fit the quiet environment). You are in one of the flight paths, and especially at night, you can hear the occasional airplane. The air conditioning is unusually loud. For me, the advantages outweighed the disadvantages (every accommodation usually has something like nearby construction, barking dogs, chickens, you name it) and I will definitely come back.
