“Poor and never book again”
My bed was filthy, the shower and toilet were in a deplorable state, the fridge was old, and there was only a single thin blanket provided. The room felt more like a temporary stay room than a standard stay. I am wondering if the poor condition was because I booked for just one night and checked in during the evening, but I paid the full price for a standard stay. It should be a 2-star hotel, not just a poor motel.

“Served its purpose.”
The location was great, a short walk to Malioboro. It's also close to the train station. There are also lots of good restaurants in the area, including the dim sum place that was the best of my trip in Indonesia. The room was huge, and the AC was really cold.
The staff didn't really know English very well. They insisted I pay in cash, which was a bit inconvenient. The overall experience was a bit sketchy, but I guess that's how things are usually done old school Indonesian.
