Magnificent stay at The Sowan Ubud. The best of all is the staff and the owner Agustawan, they treat you like one of the family. For the price paid, the value for money is unbeatable, very comfortable bed, well-kept bathrooms, good pool and chill-out area, delicious breakfasts. Agustawan guided us through all the corners of Ubud, I recommend you to rely on him for activities where you need a driver to wait for you.

The staff was nice
The room was dusty, there were cobwebs, not clean enough. There was also mold. At first, I had no trash can. Breakfast was meager and not good. Dry toast and did not get a double fried egg (which I had asked for) but received a single fried egg.

Aldi & family seem lovely, pool was clean
I left after 1 night. The room had recently been painted so with the fumes from the paint and the smell of damp/mold in the room and on the bedding, I could not sleep. The curtains didn't close properly on the windows (4) or double doors so privacy was also a concern. I mentioned all of this to Aldi the next morning, and it was suggested that I air the room out but I had already decided to leave. Unfortunately, I had booked a non-refundable room.
