“Fantastisch prima accomodatie, goed restaurant prachtig uitzicht.”
Fantastische locatie, zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Goed restaurant, alles dik in orde. Vanaf het strand loop je zo de zee in en kom je uit op het rif, daar kun je fantastisch snorkelen, boot niet nodig. En je kan zowel de zonsondergang als de zonsopgang goed bekijken. Top dus! Niet alle reviews van Formosa zijn positief, de waterdruk laat iets te wensen over en de handdoeken zijn niet spierwit, maar wel absoluut schoon. Het is echt een fantastische accomodatie, maar vergeleken met andere accomodatie op Gilli Air is dit wellicht iets eenvoudig. Of als je het vergelijkt met Bali.

“Disappointed”
There are a few positives. We received a friendly welcome upon arrival, and the bed was comfortable. However, these positives were outweighed by several issues during our stay.
For Indonesian standards, this hotel is overpriced for what it offers, even though it is relatively affordable by Gili Air standards. Unfortunately, our overall experience was disappointing. The rooms are extremely noisy because the ceiling consists of a thin layer of plasterboard beneath the thatched roof. Throughout the night, you can clearly hear animals running across the roof, often loud enough to wake you up. It creates an uncomfortable feeling and makes it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The tile floor is also incredibly slippery. Even a small amount of water makes it hazardous to walk on, so you constantly have to be careful. In the morning there was no running water at all, meaning we couldn’t shower, flush the toilet, or even wash our hands. To make matters worse, there was no staff member available for the first hour to help us. And the phone number that was provided on Booking didn’t respond and turned out to be the wrong number. When we eventually managed to speak to someone who happened to walk by, the problem was met with a very indifferent attitude, which was frustrating considering the inconvenience. The hotel is located directly behind its bar and restaurant, where staff actively try to attract passersby to eat and drink there. As a hotel guest, it became annoying to be approached every time we entered or left the property. You would expect the staff to recognize their own guests instead of treating them like potential customers each time. The quality of the staff is also inconsistent. Some employees were genuinely friendly, professional, and helpful, while others seemed uninterested and lacked basic hospitality, which resulted in a very mixed service experience. Overall, I don’t feel this hotel offers good value for money. There are simply too many shortcomings for the price being charged, and I would not choose to stay here again.
