“The villa was significantly different from what was shown in the listing, with outdated facilities, excessive mosquitoes”
The staff who prepared breakfast for us were friendly, thoughtful and provided excellent service. We were also very grateful that the property recommended Deska to us as a babysitter. She was absolutely wonderful and made a huge difference to our holiday. Other than these two positives, we unfortunately did not find much else to praise about our stay.
There were far too many problems for a property at this price point. Before arrival, communication was poor. We had difficulty reaching the property, were initially given an incorrect address, and did not receive the check-in information proactively. After arrival, there were excessive mosquitoes throughout the villas, while most of the mosquito-repellent refills we found were empty or unusable. We had to purchase our own. One villa had no hot water, meaning guests had to take cold showers. Most concerningly, there were broken tiles in the swimming pool, and one of our friends cut their foot on them. Because of these issues, we decided to leave one night early. The property initially offered a 50% refund for the second night as compensation, which we accepted. We provided our bank details as requested and were told the refund would be processed at the end of July. However, despite multiple follow-ups, the refund still has not been paid. I followed up again on 14 August and asked when exactly it would be processed. On 16 August, I was told that they would check with the accountant immediately. Since then, there has been no further update and no refund. The fact that an agreed refund has still not been paid after multiple follow-ups is extremely disappointing and has significantly affected our overall impression of the property and its management.
