We were greeted right away by our friendly host and given welcome drinks and a beautiful fruit basket. It was a very warm welcome and we really appreciated that. The room was comfortable, the bed had real cotton bedding unlike some other places that use polyester sheets. We didn't have ac but it wasn't necessary. We used the sheer curtains over the door and allowed the fresh breeze into our room all night. We felt safe and cared for, she asked us what time we wanted breakfast. She brought us the best breakfast of our trip, including bacon and fresh passion fruit juice which we ate on the balcony. When leaving, they helped us carry our bags up the stairs to the parking area and we had a friendly chat before leaving.
There are flies in the area but that's just part of nature. They weren't nearly as bad as down near the lake where we stayed last year.

Beautifully located. Fantastic, friendly, helpful staff who prepared an excellent special nasi goreng with fried chicken. Breakfast was also very tasty. Highly recommended

Now this was a place of contrast and quite strange. The rooms were massive and beautiful but there were a couple of things that could be improved. One of the plug sockets was literally hanging out of the wall, shower didn't quite work the way it was placed and meals were not really formal but kinda like this is what I will cook you.
It is a real arse to get to and quite remote. Makes it therefore you are kinda focused on their meal options amongst other things. getting out was troublesome as grab does not want to come to road as it is so rough and ready for the car. Biggest issue we had was the trip we organised to sunrise on mount batur ended up in a hill not on mount batur but was told it offered better sunrise views which we will never know. This really annoyed me as were not told this was what was happening and were not offered the option. We also had booked sunrise on mount bature not some 'wee hill' overlooking mount batur. So dont book through this hotel but rather do getyourguide if you want what's on the tin
