The superb sea view, the atmosphere of the restaurant and its food, the billiards and table football, the incredible kindness of the singer, also a waitress... We did karaoke with her and she made a commercial gesture related to a whole bunch of inconveniences...
Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay. Very worn-out, dirty room and bathroom that clearly need work. The rooms are also very dark. Uncomfortable bed, stained sheets and mosquito nets, to the point of not using them. A bedside lamp was not working. No duvet the first night, air conditioning broken the second night. The overall condition made me so uncomfortable that I didn't dare take off my flip-flops in the room or bathroom. The plank walls let insects in: we had a large beetle or cockroach in the accommodation. The bathroom is even more worrying: very worn, dirty, and dilapidated. The shower pressure was so low that my daughter and I couldn't wash our hair and had to use the cold shower by the pool. No toothbrushes and water bottles brought only after a complaint, on the second day. Very disappointing pool: cloudy water and filtration system visible through a hole that seemed dangerous for children. My husband forbade us from swimming in it. The hotel is also very close to a place of prayer. We of course respect religious practices, but the calls, several times a day, are long and very close. We were woken up at 4:48 a.m., and in the evening, they were very present and repetitive. I understand that in Ekas, where tourism is undeveloped, the facilities are basic and 'roots', especially for surfers. But the price is way too high considering the services, and the hotel is not suitable for a clientele looking for a higher standard. In summary, a 'roots' hotel for surfers rather than a high-end establishment. It's a shame because the setting and the view are incredible and the potential is real. With renovations and more maintenance, this place could be remarkable.
