Staff were nice but my daughter got some serious cuts to get feet from the pool
We stayed at Coins Seminyak, and I genuinely cannot understand how accommodation being offered to paying guests could be allowed to deteriorate to this condition. The private pool area was absolutely disgraceful. The photos tell the story better than I ever could: heavily stained and discoloured pool walls, damaged and missing tiles, exposed sections around the pool edge, deteriorating surfaces and timber decking with large gaps and obvious wear. This isn’t a tiny cosmetic issue — the entire area looks neglected and desperately overdue for proper maintenance. Then there was the bathroom. The tap was corroded, peeling and filthy around the base, while the sink/drain area had visible grime and debris. This isn’t “rustic Bali charm.” It’s poor maintenance and inadequate cleaning. Even the outdoor bamboo towel/clothes rack looked mouldy, weathered and ready for retirement. What makes it worse is that a private pool is supposed to be one of the selling points of a Bali villa. You book it imagining somewhere clean and relaxing where the family can swim. Instead, we were looking at damaged tiles, staining, deterioration and wondering why basic maintenance had apparently been ignored for so long. There is a huge difference between accommodation being older and accommodation being poorly maintained. I don’t expect luxury when I haven’t paid luxury prices, but I absolutely expect somewhere to be clean, maintained and safe enough to feel comfortable using the facilities I’ve paid for. Don’t rely solely on the promotional photos. Look closely at recent guest photos before booking. The condition we experienced was nowhere near what I would consider an acceptable standard. Coins Seminyak needs far more than a quick clean and a coat of paint. It needs proper maintenance, repairs and some serious attention to cleanliness
