“Below expectations”
Overall the structure is welcoming and clean, the breakfast is rich and abundant, except for the main meals
The structure has several issues compared to what is written on booking and some information is not accurate. There is no hot water, the water pressure is low, and the smell is very unpleasant, which made the shower a sacrifice rather than a pleasure. The room and bathroom are nice and well-furnished, but from the photos, you can't tell that there are openings under the roof through which large drafts come in, not to mention all the small flies and various insects you find in the room in the evening (fortunately, there are mosquito nets on the beds, but it's still not pleasant). The cuisine is a mix of Indonesian and Western, but they are very careful to load up on carbohydrates while meat and fish are always in very small portions. We didn't find a hairdryer in the room, nor sockets near the bed, nor themed evenings, nor a private beach, nor a buffet for children, nor a cooking class (all services marked on booking as free but then not available). The island is nice but unfortunately not clean, and the sea in the immediate vicinity of the lodge is impracticable due to algae and seaweed (we went to the only point that was better a 20-minute walk away). We didn't do any diving or snorkeling. The owner Brigitte blocked our booking.com account at the time of booking because we had booked and canceled a couple of times (which is absolutely allowed by the app since they were free sales). Furthermore, she demanded full payment in advance while our reservation provided for payment on-site. As for our way of traveling and feeling good in a place, I must say that we felt unwelcome, we were better off in small homestays managed by local people.
