Be careful, one of the cleaning staff (I can't remember his name) offered me drugs to set me up and call the police, I think. If he asks for your WhatsApp, say no!!! Luckily, I don't smoke

WE WERE SCAMMED! We paid almost 200€ for two nights, a very high price for Indonesia. However, the problem was not that, but that the photos are from when it was built, very different from reality. The curtains were torn, the sheets dirty, the lamps burnt out. The walls had a lot of moisture, there was no hot water, the entire bathroom was flooded by the shower. A real disaster. We complained to the owner and he lied to us. We showed him the photos and the reality, and when he realized, he said he would refund us 50% if we didn't complain on booking, and as we couldn't find any other accommodation, we accepted... At the end of our stay, he told us he had changed his mind and didn't give us anything at all. He literally SCAMMED US

The staff is very kind and helpful
When we arrived, they informed us that they remembered our reservation incorrectly and instead of 3 rooms, they could only provide 2 for the first night with extra beds because the others were already taken. The extra bed had no sheets and there were not enough blankets for 5 people to have separately. The air conditioning was turned off every day and we needed help from the staff to turn it back on. The bathroom is outdoors, and mosquitoes come out at night. There is no hot water. The accommodation could only be reached via a dirt road with our large suitcases

We had mixed feelings about this accommodation. There are definitely some positives, but also some things to consider. The location on the island was perfect for us. What was a bit confusing at first is that there are two different 'Santay' organizations. For example, there is a Beach Club Santay that belongs to another property and not to the accommodation where we stayed. This was not entirely clear to us at the beginning. We didn't have hot water. When we contacted the accommodation about this, they said there was no hot water available and that it was also stated in the description. We couldn't find this information ourselves. For a few days, we didn't find it a big problem, especially considering the warm weather on the island. Additionally, the toilet didn't always flush properly and the water was often cut off. Unfortunately, we found the bed very hard, so we didn't sleep comfortably. This may all sound a bit negative, but ultimately, you have to consider the accommodation in the context of the island. You are on a small island and mainly live outside. With that expectation, we found it fine for a few days. The staff was friendly, and the location made up for a lot for us. If you are looking for a simple place to stay for a few days and spend most of your time outdoors, this is a good option. However, it is important to know the above points beforehand.
