The staff were a normal (Indonesian) level of nice, i.e. pretty nice.
I don't like to write bad reviews but feel it's only fair to warn other travelers; the positive reviews on here seem to be fake (if you click on their names, you can see that) and are also written solely by Indonesians -those who were not paid, perhaps got some special bargain via an app they are promoting. As we arrived, we met some German tourists who were leaving early in disgust. We stuck it out for two nights bc we arrived late and paid in advance (oops) but for 5 USD more per night we could have got somewhere actually pleasant. Our 'superior twin' room was dirty, and had very basic provisions -- grey, ragged towels, and not even any soap in the combination hand soap/shampoo (that's a new one!) bottle. There seemed to be small bloodstains on the sheets as well as other, less easily identifiable stains...! The communal space (depicted in the last photo) is bare, stark, save for some overflowing ashtrays, and trash cans, and empty bottles/cans that were festering when we arrived and were not cleaned away during our stay (2 nights). There is loud traffic noise and it is just not somewhere you would voluntarily spend time.
