“Beautiful, but designed for Instagram and lacks the comforts to match the price tag.”
The swimming pool area is very well designed and relaxing, with a number of comfy couches and beds around the edge of the pool. We enjoyed the gradual slope entry design of the pool which made it easy to sit or lay around the edge or slip into the water. Our room (Lux) had a large outdoor deck under cover where breakfast was served in the morning and the large bucket seats make it easy to relax there. The beach is accessible through a 10-minute walk through a neighboring hotel and down some stone steps and is beautiful.
Whilst not advertised as adults only, the pictures and set up of the communal area certainly gives off that vibe, and so it was a surprise to see so many children there. This took away from the serenity of the environment, as did the numerous Instagrammers who seemed to flock there. Our room’s internal functionality did not match the beauty of the external aesthetic, with a large wooden plinth surrounding the bed making it impossible not to bang your feet, and the shower area had a gap in the roof which means rain falls through into the bathroom area. The bamboo screens look nice but I am not a fan of them as from a distance you can see through them pretty easily. The food menu and quality also did not match the high-end aesthetic. I am a coeliac so have specific dietary requirements which, to be fair, they did try to accommodate, but my wife who does not have that issue also struggled with the menu. Finally, the local e-hailing services are not permitted to pick up from the property (and the local taxi prices arranged through the hotel are literally 3 times the price).
